Conservation of Energy
Nowadays, data centers uses plenty of energy that comes from the electricity power plants. Many power plants use fuels such as gas and carbon to produce electricity. However, by burning those fuels, the power plants generate greenhouse gases which leads to enhanced greenhouse effect and this further causes global warming. In order to reduce the production of these gases, we will strongly encourage data centers using clean energy such as solar panels to generate energy during the day. By doing so, the centrals would be provided with clean energy which is environmentally friendly. We also want to make sure that the company uses technology with high efficiency and requires low energy: Examples such as efficient processors that requires less energy to process information allows the data centers reduce the amount of fuel burned to produce energy to supply the servers and the amount of refrigeration used by the water. Therefore less energy is wasted which leads to more profit and with this profit, it could let the company to research more environmental friendly technologies.
E-Waste Plan
We also want to organize a program called “E-waste plan”. As an utopia, we want to reduce the e waste as much as possible, solutions can be drawn by recycling the parts of the IT devices used. This can be achieved if organizations would pay the users who bring the e waste, so some chemical compounds can be recycled. For instance, gold in processors, silicon in RAM and even aluminum. Those chemical compounds can damage the environment and if those materials are recycled correctly, it will benefit the users, the environment and the company that recycled those chemical compounds.
Finally, to reduce the E waste, we will highly enforce companies to fabricate products that can replace the batteries. This would allow user to use the IT devices for a longer time and this would significantly reduce the amount of e-waste generated by renewing the IT devices.
